The Victoria Master Gardener Association (VMGA) is a volunteer organization whose members share a passion for gardening and the willingness to share this passion with the community.  Our members live on southern Vancouver Island, including Greater Victoria, the Gulf Islands and up the Malahat to beyond Mill Bay. Contact Us:   email info@msvmga.org

Established in 2000, our mission is to provide our members with the most up-to-date information on reliable and environmentally responsible horticultural practices for our region. As volunteers, we share this knowledge, as well as our experience and love of gardening, with the public through a variety of community service activities.

  • Local Garden Events:   These are back post-Covid.  Check the calendar or the event host's own website. See the list of garden clubs here,  farmer's markets here, and other events here
  • Clinics: These were temporarily suspended, but we are back at garden events, ready for your questionsYou can still reach us at info@msvmga.org with your gardening questions or to arrange for a virtual garden mentor.
  • You Asked Us ...  Researched responses to actual questions presented to Master Gardeners at their community clinics.
  • Mixing it up Conference:  Every two years in the midst of winter we host a full day gathering of garden enthusiasts and experts mixing together a range of gardening  topics.  Mixing It Up 2023 will take place January 21, 2023 at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney, BC.
  • Community Projects:  We put our motto of "We Grow Gardeners" into action throughout the community through programs for elementary and high school students, seniors, with the RBC Museum Herbarium, and with the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific.
