We are sad to say farewell to Darlene Cross who has been with Okanagan Master Gardeners since 2004.
Darlene has been an incredible supporter of the Okanagan Master Gardeners for its entire existence. She was a participant in the original 2004 Class and has always stepped up to assist. It is an incredible achievement to be an active member for all those years.
For many years Darlene was the OMG MGABC webmaster for our organization. Posting material on the provincial site. She liaised with the Provincial webmaster and worked very hard to encourage our local members to use the MGABC website.
Darlene has always supported members, come up with unique ideas for planting seeds, and been an integral part of our Seedy Sunday “Seed Swap” table for the last 8 years. Darlene, along with many other members went above and beyond in 2021 when we saved, processed and handed out over 4,000 envelopes of seeds at our Seedy Sunday Drive Through.
On a personal note, if I needed help, wanted seeds, or a plant Darlene was one of my go to members. If she could assist, she would. My time spent with Darlene at OMG events, Guisachan Gardens, Seedy Sundays, Plant Sales and so much more has always been a pleasure.
Thank you, Darlene, for your support, your knowledge, your kindness, your sharing of ideas, seeds, and plants.
We wish you all the best as you start building a new garden near Ponoka, AB.
